HELCs are dedicated, state-of-the-art physical spaces designed exclusively for TCO1 students. These centres complement our online curriculum by providing hands-on, interactive, and collaborative learning experiences that cannot be replicated on a screen alone.

Our fully equipped STEM zones feature microcontrollers, sensors, robotics kits, 3D printers, and coding stations. Students design, build, programme, and test their creations — from constructing robots and printing 3D prototypes to soldering circuits and experimenting with IoT solutions. These hands-on sessions reinforce what students learn in their online science and technology classes, making abstract concepts real and memorable.

One of the most common concerns about online schooling is socialisation. Our Connect Hub programme puts that concern to rest. Through periodic in-person meetups at our HELCs, students participate in team-building activities, group projects, cultural celebrations, debates, and collaborative games. These events help students build friendships, develop communication skills, and experience the camaraderie of a school community — all in a safe, supervised setting.
Activities include: Model United Nations (MUN), science fairs, art exhibitions, cultural exchange days, and hackathons.
Preparing students for the world beyond academics is a core pillar of TCO1’s philosophy. At our HELCs, students attend career counselling sessions led by industry professionals, participate in aptitude assessments, and engage in employability workshops covering public speaking, leadership, résumé building, interview skills, and entrepreneurship. These sessions help students discover their strengths, explore diverse career paths, and build 21st-century skills that set them apart.

Creativity thrives when students have the right tools and space. Our Maker Zones are equipped with crafting supplies, prototyping materials, design stations, and digital art tools. Every HELC features a curated reading corner stocked with fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, poetry, and reference materials. This quiet, contemplative space encourages self-directed reading, reflection, and independent thinking — essential habits for lifelong learners.

Student safety is paramount at our HELC. The centre is equipped with CCTV surveillance, first-aid stations, safety gear for hands-on activities (gloves, goggles, lab coats), and trained staff on duty at all times. Every student completes a mandatory orientation before accessing equipment and tools. Emergency protocols, fire safety measures, and evacuation plans are in place.
